MY FAVORITE THINGS
CINDY @ My Romantic Home is currently hosting OUR FAVORITE THINGS. What a great and fun idea this one is! For more great inspiration, please visit our lovely host.
If I have to choose one... this bureau has to be the NUMERO UNO on the list of my favorite things around Casa Maria. It has found its permanent spot in the dining room...FOR NOW. I love to move stuff around... drives The Big Guy crazy!
As I've mentioned before, BF Joe (aka The Big Guy) is my "trash man" who always reminds me that "one man's trash is another man's treasure". We found this bureau on a curbside during one of those yard sale trips we had. We couldn't believed that the owner was throwing this away. There was nothing wrong with it and the quality was great as it's made of solid wood. But this was your typical brown bureau and I, of course, had a different idea. I never wasted time... sanded it, painted it and distressed on areas where they normally show wear and tear. This bureau was FREE but I do admit that I spent too much money on the baker handles!
This season's vignette...

Oh honey, I don't care what you paid to fix it up! It is gorgeous! And your tabletop vignette! Are you a decorator by profession, because you should be if you aren't! Now I'm wanting one for my dining area too. Can you come to Texas to do mine too? (I'm kidding...sort of.)
Brenda
Wow, that is nice! I love the handles you put on it too!
Thanks for joining in!
So how can you beat FREE, that makes nice that you can splurge on the handles.
One of my favorite pieces of furniture was a curb side find as well!
I love your choice for the handles!
Looks great!

The handles were well worth it!
You are the "green" queen of the day!
It's lovely.
You scored "Big Time"! Way to go and the talent you have to make it such a beautiful treasure.
I adore the way you've displayed all the pretties too.
GREAT trash find! It looks awesome. Nicely accessorized too!

That's one great makeover! It looks gorgeous with your summery accessories. Now I must admit, I was craning my neck trying to look around the corners and see your cute house and other "projects" that I know you must be hiding around there. Any chance of a house tour? Maybe we need to have a "House Tour" Day? Hmmmmm? I love coming to play at your house. You're such a sweetie!!
p.s. BF has great taste in treasures (and furniture, too) -- Hee Hee! ; ) Happy Sunday to You!
Holy moly, what a great find!!! It looks BEAUTIFUL the way you finished it! And I have to tell you, Floppy caught my eye right away. He reminds me so much of my boy, who I had for 12 years and miss very much... Off to check out the rest of your blog!...Donna
Wow, I'm impressed! What a find! You did a beautiful job on it, and the cost of dresser (free) more than makes up for the cost of the handles. It looks wonderful, and great vignette on top too!

I think you did a great job of refinishing this piece. I love the art work that hung above it as well.
The bureau is very, very lovely! I'm jealous! ;-)
Also, thank you for your continued love, support and prayers during this time for me. I really appreciate it and it's a blessing to me. Hopefully, I'll get the results tomorrow!
*hugs*
What a fantastic dresser! You have it decorated so nicely!
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne
Hey, you can spend a little bit of money on bakers handles when the dresser was free! Lucky you! It is a great piece!

Your tea arrived today, thank you! It may have been in the P.O. a few days, as we were out of town (see next to last post!). I'm looking forward to drinking it.
I gave you an award. Please check out my latest blog entry.
